Frequently Asked Questions

What warranty applies to the Aram Espresso Maker Experience?

Aram’s manual states that the coffee maker is covered for one year from purchase against manufacturing defects, while wear-prone parts such as rubber rings have six months of coverage. Proof of payment is required. Modification, abuse, improper use, accidental or negligent damage, and improper installation can void coverage; contact Aram before disassembling the maker for a repair.

How should the Aram be preheated before brewing?

The official brewing guide says to fill the maker with boiling water to the indicated level, then run through and discard that water before filling it again for extraction. For a hotter finished drink, the guide suggests performing the boiling-water preheat twice. Handle the hot appliance only by its wooden body during brewing.

What dose range does the standard double basket support?

The brewing guide’s basic recipe uses 22 g of coffee. For the standard double basket supplied with the Aram maker, it says not to use less than 16 g or more than 24 g. Changing the dose can require a grind adjustment: the guide advises grinding finer for a lower dose and coarser for a higher dose to manage resistance.

What should I do if water remains above the coffee puck?

Do not open the portafilter while excess water remains above the puck. The official safety guidance says to raise the handle about 15 turns and then lower it fully again, which removes excess water from the puck and maker. Because the appliance and water can be very hot, keep your hands on the wooden body and away from hot metal parts.

How is the Experience maker installed in its steel support?

First secure the support post to the base with the supplied post screw and key. Place the maker in the support without the portafilter, with the sun symbol facing the support; tighten the retaining screw and check that the maker is level and secure. Insert the basket, align the sun and moon symbols to start the portafilter thread, then turn the portafilter counterclockwise.

Are variations or small cracks in the wooden finish considered defects?

Aram states that natural wood texture and tone can vary between handmade units. The product page also notes that the wooden cover may have small cracks because of the raw material and says these do not affect coffee preparation and are not treated as defects. This statement concerns natural wood variation, not damage that develops from misuse or an unrelated manufacturing issue.
