Is the Beta AR Jacket waterproof, and what membrane does it use?
The jacket uses a three-layer GORE-TEX PRO ePE construction that Arc’teryx describes as waterproof, windproof and breathable. The body uses a lighter version, while the yoke and upper arms use a more abrasion-resistant version. The membrane is free from intentionally added PFAS.
What should I do if the outer fabric starts wetting out?
Arc’teryx says faster wetting of the face fabric does not mean the membrane has lost its waterproofing. Follow the care instructions: machine wash on medium, tumble dry on normal medium, and do not use bleach, fabric softener or dry cleaning. Washing and drying can help restore the DWR finish.
How should I wash and dry the Beta AR Jacket?
Close all fastenings, wash the jacket separately, use a medium machine cycle, and double rinse. Do not bleach, dry clean, iron, use fabric softener or leave the jacket wet; remove it promptly after washing.
