Yes. Ratio says the Series 2 thermal carafe mates perfectly with the original Series 1 filter basket. That statement supports filter-basket compatibility; it does not establish that every other Series 1 component is interchangeable.
Is the plastic-free basket upgrade compatible with the Ratio Six Series 2?
Yes. Ratio describes the upgrade as a stainless-steel replacement for the original plastic brew basket and explicitly lists compatibility with the Ratio Six and Eight S2. The product page does not say that the upgrade changes the machine’s electrical or brewing specifications.
Can I put the Ratio Six Series 2 thermal carafe in a dishwasher?
No. Ratio advises against running water over the exterior or fully submerging the thermal carafe, and says it is not dishwasher safe. Dishwasher use can lead to peeling paint and water becoming trapped between the carafe walls.
Can the Ratio Six Series 2 thermal carafe be disassembled if water gets between its walls?
Yes. Ratio’s care guide provides an air-drying procedure: remove the handle covering, unscrew the handle and top ring, remove the silicone gasket, then reverse the steps to reassemble. The guide says not to force the top ring if it does not come off easily.

If Ratio repairs or replaces my machine under warranty, does the warranty restart?
No. Ratio’s USA warranty policy says repaired or replaced units remain subject to the same five-year warranty period, measured from the original product’s purchase date rather than restarting when service is completed.
