A manual dripper is mechanically simple but makes pouring technique part of the process; an immersion brewer reduces that dependence, while an automatic machine adds heaters, pumps, switches, and electronics. Size labels are not interchangeable: Hario lists its V60 01, 02, and 03 for roughly 1–2, 1–4, and 1–6 cups. Check usable volume and physical fit rather than buying extra capacity by default.
Treat filters as part of the brewer, not an afterthought. Confirm the exact size, whether it is standard or brewer-specific, whether several sellers stock it, and what a year of use will cost.
